Job summary

Eversource Energy in Massachusetts is seeking an Associate Engineer to support the Distribution Management System (DMS) implementation and ongoing maintenance. You will work with electric control centers to optimize reliability, safety, and resilience while enabling clean energy integration.

The role involves collaboration across IT, engineering, and operations to define budgets, schedules, and scopes, and to research modernization opportunities in grid technology.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate is customer driven and proactive.
• Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Power Systems preferred).
• Demonstrates ownership, accountability and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support the Company’s electric system operators by optimizing the distribution system using DMS features (AFR, LVM, Planned Outage Study, DER/Load Forecasting).
• Develop expertise in real-time system technologies (ADMS, SCADA, DER dispatching, energy storage, microgrids, Volt/Var Optimization).
• Collaborate with operations, IT, and engineering to ensure DMS functionality and future enhancements.
• Configure DMS advanced applications (FLISR, LVM, AFR, Load/Generation Scheduling).
• Contribute to technology option reviews and competitive procurement processes.
• Develop tools to process data for engineering models and databases.
• Support cross-functional teams across states to implement grid operations technology programs.
