Job summary

Eversource is seeking an Associate Engineer to support the Distribution Management System (DMS) and electric control centers in Windsor, CT. You will help optimize the distribution network and participate in modernization efforts across multiple teams.

The role requires collaboration with IT, operations, and engineering to implement DMS enhancements, and involves occasional travel. A BS in Engineering is required with preference for Power Systems experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology; Power Systems preferred.
• Experience with Distribution Management Systems or grid operations is desirable.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for project work.

Responsibilities

• Support electric system operators by optimizing the distribution system using DMS functions such as AFR, LVM, Planned Outage Study, and DER/Load Forecasting.
• Develop expertise in real-time technologies (ADMS, SCADA, DER dispatch, energy storage, microgrids, Volt/VAR optimization, load shedding).
• Collaborate with control centers, IT, and engineering to ensure DMS functionality and future enhancements.
• Support specification and configuration of DMS advanced applications (FLISR, LVM, AFR, Load and Generation Scheduling).
• Participate in technology option reviews and competitive procurement processes.
• Develop tools to process data from multiple sources to design and verify engineering models and databases.
