Job summary

Eversource Energy in Boston seeks an Engineer to support electric network modeling tools including DMS and Synergi Electric. You will join a team of engineers delivering safe, reliable, and resilient energy while modernizing grid operations.

The role involves cross‑functional collaboration, project budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder engagement across three states, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring in‑office presence on select days. Experience with ADMS, SCADA and DER is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Three years of experience in electrical utility engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support optimization of distribution system using DMS advanced functionality (AFR, LVM, Planned Outage, DER/Load Forecasting).
• Serve as SME in ADMS, SCADA, DER dispatching, energy storage, microgrids, Volt/Var Optimization and load shedding.
• Collaborate with control centers, IT, and engineering for DMS functionality and enhancements.
• Support specification and configuration of DMS apps like FLISR, LVM, AFR, Load and Generation Scheduling.
• Develop project approval docs including need statement, scope, risks, budget and schedule.
• Investigate new technologies and assess relevance to grid operations.
• Develop tools to process data from multiple sources for engineering models.
• Support multidisciplinary teams across three states for grid modernization implementation.
• Communicate grid modernization initiatives externally and participate in industry forums.
