Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking an Associate Engineer to support the Distribution Management System (DMS) and its ongoing maintenance. The role includes guiding electric control centers to optimize the distribution network for safe, reliable energy delivery while integrating clean energy resources.

Based in Windsor, CT, you will engage with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders to advance grid modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Technical Knowledge/Skill: Knowledge of utility power systems is preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Experience: 0-3 years related experience is required.
• Licenses & Certifications: None

Responsibilities

• Support the Company’s electric system operators by optimizing the distribution system using the distribution network advanced functionality of DMS including AFR, LVM, Planned Outage Study and DER/Load Forecasting.
• Develop expertise in real time system technologies such as ADMS, SCADA, DER dispatching, energy storage, microgrids, Volt/Var Optimization and load shedding.
• Collaborate with system operations centers, IT, and engineering resources to ensure DMS functionality and future enhancements.
• Support the specification and configuration of DMS advanced applications such as FLISR, LVM, AFR, and Load and Generation Scheduling.
