Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a Customer Cybersecurity Engineer in the Raleigh area. You will work with customers and internal teams to design, implement, verify, and improve cybersecurity controls for control, SCADA, HMI, and OT networks.

The role emphasizes compliance with industry standards and collaboration across North America and globally. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with opportunities to influence grid modernization, FACTS technologies, and energy transition

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, OT, or related field.
• 3+ years in network infra, OT systems, or virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Experience with VLANs, VPNs, redundancy, PKI, SSL/IPSec, RBAC, AAA, NAC.
• Knowledge of Windows OS and OT cybersecurity practices; IEC 62443/NERC CIP.
• Familiar with Nessus, CIS-CAT, Nmap, McAfee ePO, IDS/IPS or SIEM.
• Strong communication; cybersecurity certs such as Security+ or Network+ desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess customer cybersecurity needs and translate to secure control solutions.
• Design, implement, test, and deploy cybersecurity controls in control environments.
• Collaborate with customers and teams to align solutions with compliance goals.
• Perform cybersecurity verification/validation in test and customer sites.
• Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and system integration activities.
• Monitor US/Canada cybersecurity standards and advisories.
• Develop technical docs and QA across project lifecycle.
• Evaluate security of DCS, SCADA, HMI and OT networks.
