Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. seeks a Customer Cybersecurity Engineer to secure control systems for utility and industrial customers across North America.

You will design, implement, verify, and continuously improve cybersecurity controls for DCS, SCADA, HMI, and OT networks in a hybrid Raleigh-based position. Apply your knowledge of IEC 62443, NERC CIP, and modern cyber defense practices to support FAT/SAT, project teams, and customers while staying current with security advisories and industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, OT, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience with network infrastructure, OT systems, or virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper‑V, or cloud).
• Experience with VLANs, VPNs, redundancy protocols, PKI, SSL/IPSec, RBAC, AAA, and network access controls.
• Knowledge of Windows OS, OT cybersecurity practices, and IEC 62443 and NERC CIP standards.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as Nessus, CIS-CAT, Nmap, McAfee ePO, IDS, IPS, or SIEM.

Responsibilities

• Assess customer cybersecurity and network requirements and translate into secure control system solutions.
• Design, implement, test, and deploy cybersecurity controls in control system environments.
• Collaborate with customers and teams to align technical solutions with compliance objectives.
• Perform cybersecurity verification and validation in test environments and at customer sites.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and system integration activities.
