Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Raleigh, NC seeks an Industrial Network Engineer to join our Power Quality Solutions team. You will design, develop, test, and deploy HMI, SCADA, and industrial network solutions for complex power system projects, working with multidisciplinary teams and customers to deliver reliable control systems.

You'll contribute to cybersecurity, network architectures, and commissioning activities across North America, supporting MACH control platform and Station Operating and Monitoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years experience in HMI/SCADA, automation, or networking.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms such as MicroSCADA, Zenon, InTouch.
• Strong knowledge of industrial networks and protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, TCP/IP, IEC 61850).
• Understanding of power grid automation and cybersecurity concepts.
• Certifications like CCNA/CCNP or SCADA/HMI credentials are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and verify HMI and SCADA applications for FACTS and power projects.
• Develop secure industrial network architectures for SCADA and HMI systems.
• Translate customer requirements into project solutions.
• Collaborate across engineering, suppliers, and stakeholders for project success.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Assess and strengthen cybersecurity for control networks.
• Manage schedules, documentation, and project reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement aligned with quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
