Job summary

A&K Railroad Materials Inc. is seeking a Great Lakes Regional Sales Manager based in Valparaiso, Indiana. You will lead the sales team, drive new and existing accounts, and position A&K to support major rail infrastructure projects in the Great Lakes region.

You will collaborate with product managers, report to the EVP of Sales, and oversee daily sales operations while leveraging ERP tools to quantify opportunities and tailor rail solutions for our customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing or a related field.
• Proven track record in sales, preferably in railroad or construction.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills with excellent communication.
• Willingness to travel as needed and build relationships with stakeholders.
• Experience with ERP systems and data-driven market decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Great Lakes sales team to meet targets and customer expectations.
• Use ERP system and analytic tools to quantify opportunities and architect railway solutions.
• Provide weekly updates on sales activities, market trends, and competitive intelligence.

Job Summary:

As the Great Lakes Regional Sales Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving sales initiatives for railroad track materials in the Great Lakes area of the United States. Based at our Valparaiso, Indiana location, you will collaborate closely with product managers and report directly to the Executive Vice President of Sales. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the daily operations of the sales team in Valparaiso, managing both new and existing customer accounts, strategically positioning A&K to supply major high-speed rail infrastructure projects planned in the Great Lakes region of the U.S., and fostering strong partnerships both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the sales team to meet sales targets and customer expectations.
• Utilize A&K’s ERP system and analytic tools to quantify opportunities and strategically architect solutions tailored to the unique requirements of railway projects.
• Consistently deliver comprehensive weekly updates on sales activities, market trends, and competitive intelligence, empowering corporate decision-making and facilitating proactive strategy adjustments.
• Ensure consistent and effective communication within the team and internal departments.
• Manage the daily operations of the Valparaiso sales team, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement sales strategies and initiatives.
• Represent A&K at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our products and services.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the Great Lakes sales team, embracing A&K’s core values and promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
• Proven track record of success in sales, preferably within the railroad or construction industry.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a sales team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Knowledge and prior experience with ERP systems; Microsoft D365 preferred.
• Prior experience using data analytics to drive market decisions and grow the territory.
