Job summary

A&K Railroad Materials, Inc. is seeking the Great Lakes Regional Sales Manager for our Valparaiso, IN location. You will lead the sales team, drive railroad materials sales, and partner with product managers, reporting to the EVP of Sales.

Based here in Valparaiso, you will manage accounts, guide initiatives for major rail projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and build external partnerships to position A&K for ongoing growth in the Great Lakes region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing or related field.
• Proven track record of success in sales, preferably within railroad or construction industries.
• Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a sales team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel as needed and to build partnerships.
• Knowledge of ERP systems; Microsoft D365 preferred; data analytics to drive decisions.

As the Great Lakes Regional Sales Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving sales initiatives for railroad track materials in the Great Lakes area of the United States. Based at our Valparaiso, Indiana location, you will collaborate closely with product managers and report directly to the Executive Vice President of Sales. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the daily operations of the sales team in Valparaiso, managing both new and existing customer accounts, strategically positioning A&K to supply major high-speed rail infrastructure projects planned in the Great Lakes region of the U.S., and fostering strong partnerships both internally and externally.Responsibilities

• Lead the sales team to meet sales targets and customer expectations.
• Utilize A&K's ERP system and analytic tools to quantify opportunities and strategically architect solutions tailored to the unique requirements of railway projects.
• Consistently deliver comprehensive weekly updates on sales activities, market trends, and competitive intelligence, empowering corporate decision-making and facilitating proactive strategy adjustments.
• Ensure consistent and effective communication within the team and internal departments.
• Manage the daily operations of the Valparaiso sales team, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement sales strategies and initiatives.
• Represent A&K at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our products and services.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the Great Lakes sales team, embracing A&K's core values and promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
• Proven track record of success in sales, preferably within the railroad or construction industry.
