Job summary

Austin Habitat for Humanity seeks a Director of Grants to lead the organization’s grant strategy, manage all grants, and ensure compliance and reporting. You will serve as the primary liaison with funders, oversee budgets, and drive the grants pipeline with data-driven metrics.

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will collaborate with leadership to advance organizational goals, build strong funder relationships, and leverage technology to improve grant research and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in public administration, business, finance or nonprofit management.
• Minimum 7 years in grant writing and management with success securing large grants.
• Experience managing multi-million-dollar grant portfolios across Federal, State, Local, or private foundations.
• Strong compliance, reporting, budgeting and internal controls for government and private grants.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive grants strategy with an annual deadline calendar.
• Prepare, submit, and steward grant proposals and reports to funders.
• Oversee budgets, compliance, and audit readiness for all grants and restricted funds.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with foundation, corporate, and public funders.
• Coordinate with Leadership Team and cross-functional partners to align grants with strategy.
