Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville is seeking a Director of Grants & Grant Compliance to lead grant seeking and manage all active grants from award to closeout. The role collaborates with program managers and funders to maximize reimbursement and ensure compliance across the affiliate.

You will supervise the Grants team and work with NEON and Airtable to track proposals, budgets, and reporting, while strengthening relationships with public and private funders to advance Habitat's

Qualifications

• 3+ years of grant seeking and grants administration experience.
• Knowledge of pre-award and post-award grant processes and budgets.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written communication and editing skills; financial acumen.
• Experience with state and federal affordable housing funding sources (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Identify funding opportunities and coordinate pre-award activities.
• Lead the Grants team and oversee proposal development and award management.
• Ensure coordination with the ACM on pre/post-award functions.
• Prepare budgets and budget amendments; ensure post-award compliance.
• Draft grant narratives tailored to funders' audiences.
• Maintain grant tracking and reporting deadlines; manage documentation.
• Support audits with grant-related documentation.
• Collaborate with program managers to prepare grants and reports.
