Job summary

House of Hope, Inc. seeks a mission-driven Development Director to lead fundraising and grant development.

You will report to the CEO and design a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy to secure public and private funding, expand donor engagement, and ensure sustainable revenue growth. Responsibilities include managing grant proposals for foundations, corporations, and government agencies, cultivating donors, and coordinating campaigns and events.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of fundraising experience.
• Minimum 1 year of grant writing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, nonprofit management, communications, or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with persuasive writing.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple deadlines and funding streams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe InDesign or Publisher is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Growth: Develop, execute, and evaluate the annual fundraising plan with the CEO.
• Grant Lifecycle: Research, write, and manage grant proposals end-to-end.
• Funding Pipeline: Identify local, state, and federal funding aligned with priorities.
• Donor Stewardship: Cultivate relationships with donors, partners, and alumni.
• Communications & Digital: Support campaigns, reports, newsletters, and social media outreach.
• Events: Coordinate fundraising events and special initiatives, including evenings or weekends.
