Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a post-award financial administrator to manage grants, contracts and clinical trial finances. You will handle award setup, invoicing, cash management and monthly closes while ensuring compliance with GAAP, sponsor requirements and institutional policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, budget planning and financial analysis with the ability to interpret and apply fiscal regulations.
• Ability to assess, research, and resolve complex financial and compliance issues while applying sound judgment.
• Deep understanding of financial management in a clinical trial setting, expertise in research accounting, and a strong background in compliance and auditing.

Responsibilities

• Compliance with grants, contracts and clinical trial terms; monitor cost share, subrecipient oversight, and program income.
• Invoicing, accounts receivable, and cash management to ensure timely payments and accurate cash postings.
• Maintain month-end close processes with GAAP and sponsor requirements; prepare journal entries and financial statements.
• Prepare financial reports for management and sponsors; address discrepancies and ad hoc analyses as needed.
• Perform project closeout activities ensuring cost sharing and unallowable costs are addressed and documentation is complete.
• Support audits by providing required documentation and internal controls evidence.
