Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Grants Financial Analyst to manage post-award financial activities for grants, contracts and clinical trials within SPFS. You will handle award setup, invoicing, cash management, reporting and project close-out, ensuring GAAP compliance and sponsor guidelines.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience with clinical research budgeting and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field or relevant experience as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, budget planning and financial analysis with the ability to interpret and apply fiscal regulations.
• Ability to assess, research, and resolve complex financial and compliance issues while applying sound judgment.
• Deep understanding of financial management in a clinical trial setting, expertise in research accounting, and compliance and auditing.

Responsibilities

• Compliance Management: Maintain compliance with sponsor terms, Uniform Guidance and institutional policies.
• Invoicing, accounts receivable and cash management: invoice promptly and follow up on payments.
• Month-end close: prepare journal entries and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Reporting: prepare financial reports and meet sponsor deadlines; translate numbers for stakeholders.
• Project closeout: complete closeout documentation and ensure cost-share and subaward handling.
• Audit: support auditors with required documentation.
