Job summary

Reach Out and Read Northwest is seeking a Development Specialist, an early-career fundraising professional with strong writing and editing skills. After onboarding, you will draft foundation and corporate proposals, reports, and boilerplate while coordinating with colleagues to meet funder deadlines.

You will manage calendars, track grant requirements in Salesforce, prepare stewardship materials, and contribute to cultivating funder relationships to grow your portfolio over time.

Qualifications

• Approximately two–three years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or a related role where writing was a regular part of the work.
• A collaborative approach and a track record of working effectively across teams, building trust with colleagues, and keeping people informed.
• Comfort working with data and an appreciation for why accurate, up-to-date records matter.

Responsibilities

• Grant Writing and Reporting: learn programs, funders, and proposal library; draft foundation and corporate proposals and reports.
• Write and edit grant proposals, adapting templates and translating impact into funder-aligned narratives.
• Coordinate grant reporting: gather information, prepare drafts, ensure on-time submission.
• Maintain templates, boilerplate, and materials including Canva-based visuals.
• Support prospect research and funder qualification.
