Job summary

Reach Out and Read Northwest is seeking a Development Specialist, an early-career fundraising professional with strong writing and editing skills who thrives on collaboration.

After onboarding, you will take on substantial grant writing, drafting proposals and reports for review by the Associate Director of Development, while keeping deadlines, maintaining Salesforce data, and ensuring funders are thanked and stewarded well.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of nonprofit fundraising or related writing-heavy work.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to turn information into clear, compelling narratives.
• Collaborative cross-team work and reliability.
• Experience with donor databases and reporting preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce, Asana, Canva preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft foundation and corporate proposals and reports.
• Write and edit grant proposals and reports to funders.
• Manage grant calendars and ensure timely deliverables using Asana.
• Enter and maintain grant and donor data in Salesforce.
• Prepare agendas for development meetings.
• Support donor stewardship and post-award communications.
