Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks innovative technical graduates to join the Multi-Domain System Concepts Group to conduct simulation and analysis of defense systems. You will model, analyze, and assess systems using MATLAB and HPC, developing concepts to improve capabilities and transitioning ideas to fielded solutions.

You will deliver technical analyses, communicate recommendations to leadership and sponsors, and contribute to a collaborative culture focused

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, Mathematics, or similar degrees.
  • Skilled in programming and analysis, as well as math and physics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Eligible for Interim Secret level clearance at start and Top Secret clearance eventually, U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Model, analyze, and perform assessments of fielded systems and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop innovative concepts/algorithms to enhance capabilities; conduct parametric analyses using HPC.
  • Create presentations to communicate technical recommendations to APL leadership and sponsors.
  • Collaborate in a team that values continual improvement, innovation, and high-quality deliverables.
