Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) invites graduates in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics to join the Weapon Control Concepts Development Group. You will conduct modeling, simulate defense concepts, and develop AI/ML solutions for Navy, Missile Defense, and Air Force programs.

Expect to work on distributed algorithms, data fusion, and real-world prototyping with leadership and sponsors, contributing to mission critical defense

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or similar degrees.
  • Programming skills in MATLAB, C++, C, Python, etc.
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance by start date and ultimately Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and development related to U.S. Missile Defense systems.
  • Assist in development, testing, and analysis of new weapon control concepts.
  • Implement algorithms and design modeling and simulation components of systems.
  • Develop AI/ML-based concepts and technical solutions.
  • Apply data fusion and tracking concepts for object tracking and discrimination.
