Graduate Assistants will be expected to report for onboarding, training and semester preparation in August. The final date is to be determined.
Well-Being will provide a stipend, however, a tuition waiver is dependent on approval from your academic department and is not guaranteed.

This position provides experience in marketing, promotions, communication, digital and social media, and design/layout. This position supervises a student marketing team in the promotion and communication of all programs and facilities housed in Counseling and Psychological Services, Well-Being and Rec including the following: Aquatic Center, Bird Ice Arena, Charles J. Ping Recreation Center, Golf and Tennis Center, Walter Fieldhouse, Well-Being & Fitness, Intramural and Club Sports, Outdoor Pursuits, and WellWorks. In addition, the marketing team works to brand the department as one cohesive unit to include both university and department brand standards, consistency in the output of marketing materials and social media accounts, and a consistent voice for Counseling and Psychological Services, and Well-Being and Rec.
Additionally, this position will serve as a contact for University Communications and Marketing, and the Division of Student Life Marketing Team to provide content and information for university communications and social media accounts. The OHIO Well-Being marketing team work closely to enhance department communication and ensure our users and staff receive regular, current communication to share opportunities for students to engage in our programs and facilities while promoting Ohio University’s commitment to Well-Being.
The Graduate Assistant for Marketing will be challenged with promoting Well-Being & Recreation to the OHIO population and surrounding Athens community. As a Graduate Assistant, you will collaborate with the student marketing staff and the Director of Operations and Engagement to oversee the department’s Marketing and Communication annual plan and implementation. This position will be tasked with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the marketing department including the oversight of marketing requests, intake, and material distribution, project management and supervision of student staff to develop a cohesive marketing and communication plan for all programs and activities to include digital media materials, direct mail, digital newsletter content, flyers, orientation and community guides, posters, social media content and digital advertisements.
This position will need to be driven, creative, and an independent thinker as you will be challenged with promoting to diverse audiences. This position requires collaboration in supporting the promotion and registration of department events and programs while maintaining University marketing standards, brand and values.
Direct oversight for the following: Social Media Accounts, RISE Vision (Digital Displays), OHIO CUE Calendar, TDX project management and intake, OHIO Well-Being and Recreation Website, and student staff.

Engages with students and contributes to the growth and development of various aspects of the Ohio University experience, including student engagement, student leadership, student conduct, well-being and recreation, academic success, and campus life.
Responsibilities may include supporting student government, developing student fitness and recreation programs, coordinating student events, providing student academic support, and providing administrative support to departments across the University.
May supervise undergraduate students.
May assist in managing small budgets for research projects or departmental activities.
Handles complex, field-specific problems that require critical thinking and independent analysis.
May require guidance for highly specialized or unfamiliar tasks, but able to handle day-to-day challenges independently.
Works independently on assigned tasks but may consult with faculty or staff for major decisions.
Communicates regularly with faculty, supervisors, and peers. Collaborates with academic and administrative peers, faculty, and staff and participates in meetings or discussions to further research or projects. May interact with students, colleagues, or clients in academic settings.
This position is primarily office-based and requires frequent use of computer and standard office equipment. Occasional travel across campus may be necessary to attend meetings and support events and programs.
