Job Description Summary Department Summary This position supports conference services, event management, and guest housing logistics for the department of Housing and Residence Life. This position serves as the primary contact for clients staying on campus during summer conferences and liaisons between clients and university partners to support a one stop shop operation of services to the client. This position coordinates HRL programs and experiences in support of Undergraduate Admission’s daily tours, on campus yield events, and travel receptions as well as Bobcat Student Orientation and alumni engagement opportunities.
This position directs temporary and guest housing accommodation across the Housing and Residence Life portfolio throughout the full calendar year with a heavy focus on university programming weekends and transition periods (summer and winter). This position is responsible for hiring, training, supervision, and development of 25-35 student staff members. This position serves on and manages the 24/7 on-call rotation for support of academic year guest housing and summer conference crisis response.
Position Profile Plans and organizes campus events. Manages logistics such as facilities, tickets, concessions, caterers, vendors, event communications, and technical support for events. Works with speakers, vendors, and staff to ensure successful event execution. Manages communications across the event team, providing smooth and seamless event experiences.
Level Summary Provides professional expertise to the University community. Serves as a resource and guide to others in the department and/or university. Completes operational tasks essential for the daily functioning of the University. Additionally, contributes to larger projects or initiatives that align with department or University goals, often collaborating across teams.
Supervisory Responsibilities May assist in mentoring or training new employees. Fiscal Responsibilities No budgetary responsibility. May be responsible for validating transactions. Problem Solving Handles a variety of problems with some independence. Independence of Action Some supervision; able to work independently on routine tasks. Communication and Collaboration Collaborates with team members and shares knowledge.
Physical Requirements This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers, although will require working in halls across our residential portfolio. Occasionally, the job will require travel for admissoin recruitment events and to attend meetings and programs.
Minimum Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3-5 years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree; 1-2 years Management Experience Department Housing Pay Rate Commensurate with education and years of experience.
