Level Summary Performs basic tasks and assists with administrative or operational duties under supervision. The role is entry-level and aimed at providing exposure to workplace environments.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Limited supervisory responsibilities. May supervise other student workers.
Fiscal Responsibilities: No budgetary responsibility.
Problem Solving: Addresses routine, well-defined problems under supervision.
Independence of Action: Works under close supervision.
Communication and Collaboration: Communicates primarily with supervisor and peers. Collaborates with team members to accomplish tasks. Communicates externally with prospective students, family members, and other influencers in the college decision making process.
Minimum Qualifications Enrolled for classes at Ohio University during the current semester or immediate previous semester. Able to follow instructions and complete tasks within deadlines. Basic knowledge of office software and communication tools. Departments may have specific minimum requirements. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications Working Condition/Physical Demands: This role requires ability to provide walking tours of campus and escorts guests to various locations across campus, stand for extended periods of time to direct visitors and guests, sit at a desk for extended periods with extensive use of a computer. Occasionally, the job may require travel off-campus to attend meetings and programs.
Work Schedule/Location: Responsibilities generally occur between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm Monday through Saturday. However, there may be some work required earlier than 8 am or later than 8 pm or on Sundays.
