Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) is seeking a Surveying Intern to support our GPS team in Columbia, MO. You will learn surveying on a real job site, collaborating with an experienced Technician and gaining hands-on field experience in construction layout.

The internship focuses on surveying techniques, equipment, and ESS workflow. Many interns progress to full-time technicians or project roles; strong communication and reliability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience or familiarity with surveying and construction processes preferred.
• Must be able to operate field equipment including Total Stations, GPS Rovers and Auto Levels.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, adjusts, and operates surveying instruments.
• Calibrate sites for GPS rovers and GPS Machine Control.
• Troubleshoot GPS Machine Control and support construction layout.
• Work from engineering plans to establish lines and grades for construction.
• Provide work control lines and elevations for accurate measurements.
• Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as required.
