Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) is seeking a Surveying Intern to join the GPS team in O’Fallon, MO. You will learn field surveying techniques, work closely with a Surveying Technician, and gain hands-on experience with plan reading and construction layout on real projects.

The internship offers on-site training, exposure to GPS machine control, and potential advancement into full-time surveying roles. Applicants should be prepared for a fast-paced environment and long hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with surveying and construction industry; willingness to train the right candidate.
• At least two years of construction industry experience required.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjusts, and operates surveying instruments.
• Calibrate GPS rovers and GPS machine control.
• Work from engineering plans to establish lines and grades; document data.
• Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as required.
• Coordinate surveying activities with jobsite personnel and safety minded.
• Represent the company in a professional manner on and off the job.
