Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. is seeking a Surveying Intern in Springfield, MO to support our GPS team. You will work alongside an experienced Surveying Technician, learn construction layout, plan reading, and gain hands-on field experience.

The internship emphasizes on-the-job training in surveying techniques and ESOP-driven culture. The role offers exposure to workflow across surveying, estimating, and project management, with potential paths into full-time surveying technician or estimator roles.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of survey practices and computations.
• Able to operate Total Stations, GPS Rovers and Auto Levels.
• Willingness to train in surveying and construction disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate surveying instruments.
• Calibrate sites for GPS rovers and GPS Machine Control.
• Coordinate survey activities with jobsite and operations staff.
• Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as required.
