Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) seeks a Surveying Intern to learn on our GPS team in O’Fallon, MO. The role supports construction layout, plan reading, and on-site field work alongside an experienced technician. Perfect for students studying Construction Management or related fields who want hands-on exposure to civil projects.

You will gain practical experience with surveying techniques, equipment, and ESS workflow, with potential growth into full-time roles within surveying and project teams.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Working knowledge of survey practices and computations.
• Ability to operate Total Stations, GPS Rovers, and Auto Levels.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• 18+ and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate surveying instruments.
• Calibrate GPS rovers and GPS machine control.
• Troubleshoot GPS machine control.
• Construction layout from plans and notes.
• Provide lines, elevations, and survey data for construction.
• Coordinate surveying activities with site teams.
• Travel between sites as needed.
• Maintain safety standards on site.
