Job summary

Marsh is seeking a Cloud Operations Manager to lead a 4-person team, owning AWS GovCloud environments, incident response, change and problem management, and security compliance in a regulated setting.

You will balance hands-on cloud work with people leadership, coordinate with internal and vendor teams, and drive operational excellence through automation and continuous improvement.

This role is based in Austin, TX, with hybrid work and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small operations team.
• Knowledge of security/compliance in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 4 cloud operations engineers.
• Participate in rotating weekly on-call schedule.
• Support audit activities with findings and documentation.
• Own a portfolio of work from approach to execution.
• Identify and implement cost-optimization improvements.
• Implement operational improvements and automation.
• Create and maintain documentation for configurations and procedures.
• Coordinate with cross-functional and vendor teams for fixes and escalations.
• Maintain security and operational standards, including access control and patch status.
• Support incident management, RCAs and problem resolution within SLAs.
• Provide leadership for troubleshooting across compute, storage, networking, DNS, IAM.
• Oversee patching, upgrades, maintenance via change management.
• Monitor AWS GovCloud health, performance, and alerts.
• Set team priorities and manage workload across incidents and projects.
• Remain hands-on in deploying and managing GovCloud infrastructure.
