Director serves as liaison between partners, clients and staff, managing multiple engagements and leading business development. Responsibilities include staffing engagements, evaluating staff, and ensuring audits adhere to GAAS, GAGAS, and Uniform Guidance.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting with a focus on government/civic audits
• Minimum 2 years in a senior manager position leading engagements
• Experience auditing state and local governments (cities, counties, districts, charter schools)
• Must hold a current CPA license
• Willingness to travel to client and firm locations

Responsibilities

• Maintain ongoing contact with clients; develop strong client relationships and understanding of client operations
• Lead engagements either as engagement partner or reporting to partner; oversee all phases and delivery
• Sign attest opinions when acting as engagement partner
• Schedule, staff, and coordinate engagement workflow; supervise staff and review work papers
• Develop staff through training and performance evaluations; participate in recruitment and interviewing
• Lead business development and client leads; prepare fee estimates and attend meetings with prospective clients
