Ashton North LLC, a regional CPA firm, seeks an Audit Director with State and Local Government specialization. This role offers a fast track to Partnership and a balanced hybrid work environment, with relocation assistance available.

The Director liaisons with Partners, clients and staff, manages multiple audits, develops staff, and pursues new business for the firm. Travel to client sites is required; CPA license is essential.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years in public accounting with 2+ years in senior management.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA license (current and valid).
• Ability to travel to client and firm locations.
• Experience auditing government entities (state/local).

Responsabilités

• Maintains ongoing client relationships and understands client operations and controls.
• Leads engagements or reports to engagement partner; signs attest opinions when assigned.
• Oversees engagement phases to ensure compliance with GAAP/GAAS and firm policy.
• Keeps engagement partner informed of developments and issues.
• Schedules engagements and ensures staffing and workflow efficiency.
• Acts as SME for governmental sector and supports staff training.
• Oversees billing and collections with engagement teams.
• Involved in recruitment and candidate interviews for Assurance and Advisory roles.
• Represents the firm in business development and client meetings; generates fee estimates.
