The Director will manage multiple audits, train staff, and lead client relationships while developing new business and ensuring GAAS, GAGAS, and Uniform Guidance compliance.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting and a minimum of 2 years in a senior manager position, with significant experience in the public sector, including auditing state and local governments.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Holds a current and valid CPA license.
• Ability to travel to client and firm office locations.
• Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm.
• Significant experience conducting audits in accordance with GAGAS/Yellow Book, GAAS and the Uniform Guidance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients throughout the year; builds and maintains good client relationships.
• Acts as engagement partner or reports to the engagement partner on engagements.
• Signs attest opinions as a representative of the firm when assigned.
• Oversees all phases of engagement reporting and ensures deliverables meet accounting framework and firm policy.
• Apprises the engagement Partner of important developments and potential issues; implements solutions.
• Ensures engagements are properly scheduled.
• Serves as SME for governmental sector.
• Ensures billing and collection per policy.
• Supervises staff and reviews work papers and reports.
• Plays a pivotal role in staff evaluations and counseling.
• Involved in recruitment of staff and interviews candidates.
• Represents the firm in business development; generates new client leads and meetings.
• Leads initial client communications and fee estimates.
