Job summary

Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort on Fripp Island, South Carolina, is hiring a dedicated grounds maintenance worker. You will maintain tees, fairways, roughs and hazards daily, assist with construction and reconstruction of greens, tees and fairways by grading, preparing soils and planting, and prepare planting beds for seasonal color.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk a minimum of 8 hours daily.
• Knowledge of golf course maintenance and landscaping techniques.
• Must be able to withstand extreme outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain tees, fairways, roughs and other hazards and greens daily including mowing each with the appropriate equipment.
• Assist with the construction and reconstruction of the greens, tees, and fairways by grading, preparing soils and planting.
• Grade and prepare planting beds, lay sod, plant materials and seed course.
• Lay walks and paths using gravel and asphalt materials; repairs and replaces irrigation systems as needed.
• Perform daily maintenance on all equipment used according to the established maintenance schedule.
• Maintain cart paths and bunkers according to the established maintenance schedules.
• Water and fertilize courses and surrounding landscape according to established schedules.
• Mark course for cart control and move barriers; replace ropes and signs as needed.
• Operate company trucks and equipment in compliance with established safety procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort is located on Fripp Island, South Carolina, a 3500-acre private island located at the end of U.S. Highway 21 South. It is the last inhabited island in a chain of islands leading from historic Beaufort to the Atlantic Ocean. During the summer, we are in full swing with Resort guests checking in and out every week. In the offseason, we see golf groups, many weddings, and winter renters.
