Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort on Fripp Island, SC is seeking a dedicated hospitality professional to care for barn-owned and boarded horses and support guest experiences on our coastal property.

The role includes scheduling, event planning, stalls cleaning, equine care, and assisting with veterinary and farrier needs, while delivering exceptional service to guests and groups visiting Beaufort’s premier island destination.

Formación

• Must have previous horse experience and riding experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work 8 hours daily.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; guest-focused service.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsabilidades

• Answering phone calls and emails.
• Scheduling lessons, trails, and other reservations.
• Assist director with staff management and oversight of clients and horses.
• Plan events, parties, and shows.
• Clean stalls and barns.
• Maintain a tidy work and barn area.
• Clean water troughs and distribute hay.
• Groom and bathe horses as needed.
• Assist vet and farrier as required.
• Support staff training and development.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort is located on Fripp Island, South Carolina, a 3500-acre private island located at the end of U.S. Highway 21 South. It is the last inhabited island in a chain of islands leading from historic Beaufort to the Atlantic Ocean. During the summer, we are in full swing with Resort guests checking in and out every week. In the offseason, we see golf groups, many weddings, and winter renters.

Job Description

This position is responsible for the care and wellbeing of barn-owned and boarded horses.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Answering phone calls and emails.
• Scheduling lessons, trails, and other reservations.
• Assisting director with management of staff and oversight of clients and horses.
• Planning events, parties, and shows.
• Cleaning stalls and barns.
• Keeping a tidy work area and barn area.
• Cleaning water troughs.
• Distributing hay for all horses.
• Dragging paddocks and arenas.
• Grooming horses as needed.
• Bathing horses as needed.
• Helping the vet and the farrier.
• Treating horses with wounds or medication needs.
• Participate and assist in staff training and development, team building events or other events as necessary.
• Perform other duties reasonably associated with the scope and needs of the farm and resort.

Requirements

To be considered, applicants must demonstrate they meet the following requirements:

• Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally.
• Great customer service skills including engaging with guests, listening carefully and ensuring a quality product is delivered each time.
• Ability to foresee problems that may arise due to environment or circumstances.
• Ability to exercise patience when dealing with guests, children, and horses.
• Must have a valid drivers' license.
• This position requires previous horse experience
• Attention to detail and pro-active thought process.
• Must have previous horse experience and riding experience and be competent working with and around horses.
• Critical thinking skills, ability to think quickly and respond to issues and emergencies that may arise.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• This position requires complete mobility and the ability to withstand extreme outdoor environments. Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk a minimum of 8 hours daily and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
