Mounds View Public Schools in Saint Paul is seeking an Assistant Boys Golf Coach for Spring 2027. The assistant will support the head coach with try-outs, practice planning, game management, and overall program operations.

The role emphasizes building a strong program, fostering positive relationships with players, parents, staff, and the community, and modeling character and responsible behavior. A Minnesota coaching certificate is required; prior coaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Pay: Stipends are paid in accordance with the Teacher Labor Agreement, Appendix C

Overview

The assistant coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in all aspects of running the program including try‑outs, team selection, practices, games, etc.

Qualifications

• A valid Minnesota coaching certificate (or alternative qualifications) is required.
• Strong background in and understanding of the specific sport.
• Successful coaching experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in building a comprehensive program, developing staff, and managing diverse program-wide elements in accordance with the school mission and vision.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the program and the local community.
• Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior.
• Positive, high energy, and committed.
• Partners well with parents, staff, community leaders, etc.
• View success not just as winning; but as helping team members to reach goals.
• Orientation toward continuous improvement and transformational coaching.
