Job summary

Mounds View Public School District in Minnesota seeks an Assistant Gymnastics Coach for the Winter 26-27 season to assist the head coach with try-outs, team selection, practices, and games.

A Minnesota coaching certificate (or equivalent) is required. The candidate should have a strong gymnastics background, coaching experience, and be committed to building a positive program for students and the community. Stipends are paid according to the Teacher Labor Agreement, Appendix C.

Job description

Position: Assistant Gymnastics Coach

Season: Winter 26-27

Overview: The assistant coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in all aspects of running the program including try-outs, team selection, practices, games, etc.

• A valid Minnesota coaching certificate (or alternative qualifications) is required.
• Strong background in and understanding of the specific sport.
• Successful coaching experience strongly preferred.
• Experiencein building a comprehensive program, developing staff, and managing diverse program-wide elements in accordance with the schoolmission and vision.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the program and the local community.
• Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior.
• Positive, high energy, and committed.
• Partners well with parents, staff, community leaders, etc.
• View success not just as winning; but as helping team members to reach goals.
• Orientation toward continuous improvement and transformational coaching
