Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Gymnastics Coach to support the head coach in try-outs, team selection, practices, and games for the Winter 26-27 season.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid Minnesota coaching certificate (or equivalent), have a strong gymnastics background, and demonstrate coaching experience. The role emphasizes program development, staff leadership, and positive community relationships.

Overview

The assistant coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in all aspects of running the program including try-outs, team selection, practices, games, etc.

Qualifications

• A valid Minnesota coaching certificate (or alternative qualifications) is required.
• Strong background in and understanding of the specific sport.
• Successful coaching experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in building a comprehensive program, developing staff, and managing diverse program-wide elements in accordance with the school mission and vision.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the program and the local community.
• Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior.
• Positive, high energy, and committed.
• Partners well with parents, staff, community leaders, etc.
• View success not just as winning; but as helping team members to reach goals.
• Orientation toward continuous improvement and transformational coaching
