Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Graduate Medical Education Program Coordinator II to support Surgery Education and GME programs. The role requires detailed coordination, strong confidentiality, and proactive problem solving to ensure compliance with medical school policies.

The candidate will manage recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, and program evaluation, collaborating with leadership and staff to maintain accreditation and quality education across residency and fellowship

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field required, (four years of administrative experience or 60 semester hours of college credit may substitute for an Associate’s Degree)
• 2 years of direct experience with a medical education program required, including knowledge of ACGME or LCME accreditation requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• TAGME certification Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all aspects of the GME program, including development and implementation of innovative educational strategies.
• Supports daily operations of the GME residency/fellowship programs, possibly with other coordinators/administrators.
• Facilitates resident recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes, including visa requirements, licensure, and credentialing.
• Provides guidance and mentorship to residents/fellows and junior coordinators on policies and procedures.
• Leads program compliance with ACGME requirements and institutional standards; advises on inquiries from residents and faculty.
• Oversees program evaluation and timely data analysis for residents, faculty, and programs.
• Leads preparation and submission of reports to the ACGME and other bodies.
• Develops and maintains program procedures per accrediting agency standards.
• Represents the program at meetings and conferences; builds relationships with stakeholders.
• Oversees budget management and compliance with financial regulations.
