Job summary

Baton Rouge General Medical Center is seeking a Medical Education & GME Coordinator to serve as the central point for outside residents, visiting rotators, and medical students within our GME, UME, and CME activities.

The role emphasizes coordinating rotations, onboarding, and cross-training to back-fill Residency Coordinators during busy periods, while supporting accreditation processes and educational logistics.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of administrative experience required; experience in a medical education, GME, or academic healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
• College-level business coursework or equivalent associate/bachelor's degree preferred.
• Familiarity with residency management platforms (e.g., MedHub, New Innovations, QGenda), the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), and ACGME WebADS is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, database management, and credentialing verification skills.
• Proved ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential, and HIPAA-regulated information.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outside residents and visiting rotators; manage onboarding and affiliations.
• Coordinate onboarding clearances for visiting trainees, including malpractice/liability insurance verification, health clearances, and systems access.
• Coordinate medical student rotations and clerkships with affiliated schools; manage applications and scheduling.
• Provide cross-training backup for Residency Coordinators during peak seasons and accreditation cycles.
• Assist CME offerings and manage educational logistics including spaces, AV, catering, and tracking.
• Support accreditation reviews, data collection, and expense reporting for the GME office.
