Job summary

Cogent Communications is seeking a Global Account Manager to drive new business opportunities in a regional/global territory. This in-office role is based in Overland Park, KS, requiring a hunter mentality and strong relationship-building with key decision makers.

You will present connectivity solutions across IP transit, data center colocation, and wholesale services, working within Cogent's global footprint.

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of B2B telecom sales with collocation, wholesale, and data transit experience.
• Proven track record in hunting, qualifying, and closing new business with quotas.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• CRM systems and MS Office experience is a plus.
• College degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a regional sales territory across IP Transit, content providers, carriers, and related markets.
• Prospect via direct calls, email, and meetings to qualify and generate opportunities with key decision makers.
• Complement prospecting with onsite customer meetings as needed.
• Use consultative selling to position connectivity solutions across Cogent's global footprint.
• Support customers by leveraging Cogent's network assets in data centers and colocation facilities.
