Job summary

VERSANT is seeking a Technology Procurement Manager to join the Global Procurement team, shaping sourcing strategies across software/SaaS, hardware, cloud, data, cybersecurity and services. You will partner with Operations and Technology teams to influence technology spend and governance.

This hybrid role focuses on negotiations, cost analyses, supplier due diligence, and delivering cost savings while balancing risk and business value as the global procurement function evolves.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, information technology, or related field; advanced degree or certification is a plus.
• 5+ years of directly relevant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or vendor management.
• Experience leading sourcing initiatives and negotiations for software/SaaS, cloud, data, cybersecurity, hardware, telecommunications, and/or technology professional services.
• Strong financial and analytical skills; ability to evaluate total cost of ownership and build business cases.
• Independent, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Advise business and tech leaders on technology investment and supplier decisions.
• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing across technology categories.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, InfoSec, Privacy, Compliance, and Tech teams.
• Develop and execute RFIs, RFPs, RFQs and supplier evaluations.
• Negotiate complex commercial terms and risk provisions.
• Build total cost of ownership analyses and executive recommendations.
• Perform due diligence and coordinate risk/compliance assessments.
• Draft and manage technology agreements (MSAs, SOWs, amendments).
• Deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies while balancing risk.
• Maintain sourcing, contract, spend, and savings docs; report status.
• Evolve procurement processes, tools, and governance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
