New Relic is seeking a technology leader to guide our global engineering team and grow our APM agent capabilities. You will help engineers build the next generation of observability software and deliver insights across distributed systems.

You will lead data-driven design, scale high-performing remote teams, and drive reliability and rapid execution in a fast-growing environment. This role offers remote/work-from-any-location options depending on location.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience leading people and teams.
• 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
• Proven track record of leading and scaling technical teams.
• Experience handling high performing self-directed remote teams.
• Capable of diving deep and understanding technical implications.
• Experience in a backend language like Java and Node.
• Experience with Data Analysis.
• Experience managing on-call rotations and 24/7 operations.
• Strong drive to coach, teach and develop others.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Nice to have exposures to OpenTelemetry or other observability tools.
• Nice to have AI experience.

Responsibilities

• Hands on with data analysis and technical problem solving.
• Leverage open source tools like OpenTelemetry to acquire data.
• Help design and build APM agents that run in customer environments.
• Build processes that ensure reliability, scalability, team growth and execution.
• Work across teams to build engineering plans and execute in a distributed, large-scale environment.
