Job summary

Fivetran seeks a Community Manager to lead the dbt Slack community, grow engagement, and foster a welcoming space for data practitioners worldwide. You will partner with internal teams to shape programs, guidelines, and events that activate members and surface insights.

You will own day-to-day operations, build scalable processes, and drive participation while maintaining a high standard of support and governance across regions and time zones.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in digital community management, online engagement, or program management in a global or distributed environment.
• Experience owning day-to-day operations for a large online community (Slack/Discord/forum).
• Strong understanding of online community dynamics and scaling trust and belonging.
• Experience building and improving moderation and support workflows, including Code of Conduct enforcement.
• Excellent written communication and facilitation skills across audiences.
• Experience using community tooling and analytics to track engagement and trends.
• Data-informed decision making with defined KPIs for engagement and health.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Support, and Developer Experience.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of the dbt Slack community for a welcoming, high-signal experience.
• Partner with leaders and stakeholders to evolve channel strategy and engagement programming.
• Develop scalable moderation/workflows and escalation paths, including Code of Conduct enforcement.
• Coach, onboard, and support moderators; recruit new moderators as community grows.
• Create content systems for announcements, highlights, prompts, and storytelling.
• Surface community insights to Product, Marketing, and Support; close the loop with outcomes.
• Monitor engagement and health metrics and run experiments to improve them.
• Manage Slack workflows, analytics, knowledge base, and integrations; document best practices.
• Plan and manage incident response with Legal/People/Security as needed.
