Job summary

Acuity International is seeking a Senior Cost Consultant to lead cost estimating, analysis, and control activities across projects. The role emphasizes maintaining schedules, guiding project personnel, and developing junior staff to uphold the company’s mission and values.

The Senior Cost Consultant will collaborate with engineers and discipline group leaders, ensure data quality for cost reporting, and contribute to project financial status and earned revenue determinations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Certified Cost Professional certification from AACE International or similar (CCP/CEP/CPE).
• Knowledge of capital cost and services cost.
• Knowledge of scope change management.
• Proficiency with engineering, procurement, contracts, construction systems, and startup processes.
• Proficiency in using multiple discipline-specific software applications.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and implementing requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standards, programs, and reports.
• Assists in preparing cost data for projects, proposals and contract negotiations.
• Assist with scope change management.
• Determines scope definition requirements for a discipline or other specialty and coordinates data with Engineering to conform to the overall estimate preparation plan.
• Develops quantity takeoffs for a discipline or specialty and verifies quantities provided by others.
• Develops and applies unit rates to takeoffs and quantities.
• Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures.
• Prepare and coordinate cost reports.
• Collects and classifies cost engineering data.
• Performs data analysis and development.
• Supports project management and staff development.
