Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager in Virginia to lead construction projects for new data centers. You will own scope, quality, schedule, and budget while interfacing with general contractors and internal teams.

You will drive cost, schedule, and safety on site daily. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in data centers or critical infra, plus strong project management and construction documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience taking design concepts to deployment or mass production.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Windows OS.
• Experience with power management and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with general contractors during bidding, awards, execution, and closeout.
• Negotiate bids and evaluate proposals with detail.
• Define project scope and prepare RFPs.
• Perform financial analysis of construction projects.
• Manage data center construction initiatives to improve resiliency.
• Review electrical/mechanical designs for constructability.
• Handle construction documents, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and invoicing.
• Ensure quality control and track key construction metrics.
• Lead cross-functional and vendor teams on data center projects.
• Troubleshoot and drive root-cause analysis of equipment failures.
