Forvia is seeking a Resident Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI, to serve as the principal technical contact for product development. You will own customer relationships at the DRE/D&R level and lead PMS work packages, APQP milestones, and key technical reviews, ensuring EBOMs meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.

You will coordinate testing, manage DFMEA and DVP&R activities, support IP/Warranty/VAVE, and provide launch support at customer and internal plants.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or BS in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry.
• Cross functional management skills.
• Experience in customer relationship.
• Leadership and communication skills.
• Experience in engineering project management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong teamwork sense.
• Must have global mindset.

Responsabilités

• Owns customer relationship at DRE / D&R level and provides high level customer representation.
• Lead Engineering PMS Work Packages and Customer Engineering Milestones.
• Core team member of APQP supporting the Program Manager and Account Manager.
• Lead the preparation and presentation of customer technical reviews and future business opportunities.
• Ensures EBOM meets QCD targets throughout product development and launch process.
• Support customer program meetings as requested.
• Responsible for leading development of APQP documents.
• Responsible for risk management utilizing DFMEA and DVP&R.
• Prototype build support on-site with customer build support or problem resolution.
• Coordinate physical testing requirements in alignment with DVP&R.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and liaise with the UAD to ensure all technical requirements are understood and delivered.
• Report on technical progress and design issues, through written technical reports.
• Ensures product design meets SOW requirements.
• Review customer warranty issues and ensure these are addressed in future technical solutions.
• Support IP, Warranty, and VAVE activity.
• Launch support as required at customer and internal plants.
