Job summary

Forvia, a leading automotive technology group, seeks a Resident Engineer to serve as the primary technical contact for customers during product development. You will own customer relationships, lead APQP work packages, and guide program milestones across the engineering team.

The role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to present reviews and identify future business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or BS in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry.
• Cross-functional management and leadership experience.
• Strong customer relationship & communication skills.
• Willingness to travel ~30%.

Responsibilities

• Owns customer relationship at DRE / D&R level and provides high level customer representation.
• Lead Engineering PMS Work Packages and Customer Engineering Milestones.
• Core team member of APQP supporting the Program Manager, Account Manager.
• Lead the preparation and presentation of customer technical reviews and future business opportunities.
• Ensure EBOM meets QCD targets through development and launch.
• Support customer program meetings as requested.
• Responsible for development of APQP documents
• Risk management using DFMEA and DVP&R
• Prototype build support on-site with customer build support or problem resolution
• Coordinate physical testing requirements aligned with DVP&R
• Lead technical discussions with customers and report progress through reports.
• Review customer warranty issues and ensure addressed in future technical solutions.
• Support IP, Warranty, and VAVE activity
• Responsible for internal and customer change management execution
• Launch support at customer and internal plants
