Job summary

Goodwin’s Global Operations Team seeks a People Operations Specialist to lead onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle processes, ensuring data integrity and compliance. You’ll partner with Legal, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, IT and admin teams to deliver efficient HR services.

The role requires 4+ years in HR, HRIS experience (Workday preferred), and strong analytical skills. You’ll mentor junior staff, generate reports, and help implement process improvements in a fast-paced professional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of HR experience, law firm or professional services preferred.
• 2+ years with HRIS systems and lifecycle changes; Workday preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HR data in HRIS for onboarding, changes, compensation, relocation, offboarding, payroll, time cards, and lifecycle events.
• Audit and ensure accuracy of firm data; review local data entry and resolve discrepancies.
• Lead HRBP projects including performance reviews, talent management and succession planning initiatives.
• Provide confidential support to Employee Relations and Compliance teams.
• Own onboarding activities: background checks, new hire orientation, I-9 verifications, and 30-day check-ins; serve as main TA contact for hires.
• Own offboarding activities including terminations; conduct exit interviews with leadership.
• Identify and implement process improvements; train and rollout HRIS/process enhancements.
• Mentor junior People Operations team members.
• Produce reports with HRIS partner; analyze data and advise leaders.
• Handle tier-2 inquiries from employees and attorneys.
• Monitor state/local employment laws; ensure compliance postings and policies are up-to-date.
• Understand GDPR and data privacy regulations.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned.
