Job summary

Pavion in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Payroll Associate to join our shared services team. You will execute weekly payroll for 500+ employees across multi-state and union environments, ensuring compliance and timely distribution.

Ideal candidates have payroll experience, knowledge of unions and Davis Bacon, strong time management, and proficiency in Microsoft applications and payroll systems such as UKG Pro or Ultimate Software. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Payroll experience for 500+ employees.
• Solid understanding of multi-state payroll practices.
• Experience with Unions.
• Experience with Davis Bacon and Service Contract Payroll and Reporting.
• Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• PC proficiency (Microsoft applications).
• Self-directed and motivated to success.

Responsibilities

• Execute weekly payroll preparation and distribution of the organization’s multi-state and Union payroll in accordance with regulations and company policy.
• Audit employee timesheets and notify managers of issues; review HR changes to ensure correct processing; prepare pre-payroll uploads; ensure Union deductions per the CBA.
• Maintain backup payroll reports weekly; manage quarterly and yearly tax information on designated drives.
• Answer questions and provide guidance to employees, leaders, and partners as needed.
• Assist in system setup for jobs with wage adjustments; ensure timely weekly wage reporting for Davis Bacon, Service Contract and Union items; troubleshoot reports as needed.
