Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Payroll Senior Manager to lead a multi-state, multi-country payroll team, ensuring timely, accurate processing and compliance with SOX and company policies. You will optimize payroll workflows, partner with Finance, Benefits, HR, IT, and manage relationships with payroll providers, audits, and system integrations in Workday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Eight+ years in payroll, accounting, finance, or related area.
• Experience managing vendors in a shared services environment.
• Proven payroll controls, compliance, and SOX knowledge.
• Proficient with Workday and payroll reporting tools.
• Experience with ADP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll compliance for a large multi-state and multi-country shared services department.
• Ensure adherence to payroll strategy and objectives.
• Organize planning and execution of payroll compliance and services.
• Manage relationships with payroll providers and outsourcers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Benefits, HR, IT.
• Navigating payroll compliance team through unexpected circumstances and/or instability.
• Implements continuous strategic process improvements to increase accuracy and reduce risk.
• Directs and evaluates activities of assigned payroll team and related tax processing.
• Oversees payroll general ledger integration and related activity.
• Reviews system testing and signs off on updates impacting payroll compliance.
• Maintains SOPs and internal controls; ensures policy adherence.
• Measures performance against goals and SLAs; reports progress.
• Ensures compliance with internal and external regulations (SOX).
• Oversees payroll accounting journal entries and reconciliations.
• Serves as payroll contact for audits and inquiries.
• Maintain data integrity and confidentiality in Workday.
