Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Payroll Senior Manager to lead a multi-state payroll team in a dynamic shared services environment. The role emphasizes timely, accurate payroll processing, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with Finance, HR, and IT to optimize service levels.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in payroll/finance, strong Workday and ADP experience, and a proven ability to improve processes while maintaining data integrity and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Payroll, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Proficient understanding of payroll processes, controls and regulations.
• Experience managing third-party vendors in a shared services environment.
• Proficient in Workday with knowledge of reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll preparation/processing for large multi-state workforce.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, SOX, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage relationship with payroll provider and outsourcers.
• Collaborate with Finance, Benefits, HR and IT on payroll initiatives.
• Implement process improvements to increase accuracy and reduce errors.
• Direct and evaluate payroll team activities including tax reconciliations and year-end statements.
• Approve payroll GL integration and related activity.
• Maintain payroll SOPs and internal controls.
