Welltower Inc. is seeking a Manager, Payroll & Benefits Accounting to lead payroll, benefits, STI and T&E accounting across our global operations. This role partners with Human Capital, Finance and IT, and plays a key role in the Workday implementation and ongoing process improvements.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, multi-entity payroll experience, and a track record of building scalable processes while guiding a growing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA or other relevant designation preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll/benefits or related accounting.
• Experience supporting payroll accounting within large, complex, multi-entity organizations.
• Global or multi-country payroll accounting experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, GL accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP, payroll, or HRIS implementations; Workday experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and financial reporting for payroll, benefits, STI, and T&E across global operations.
• Oversee payroll-related journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts across entities.
• Partner with Payroll, Human Capital, Finance, IT and other stakeholders to reflect activity in the general ledger.
• Support Workday implementation by defining accounting requirements and validating configurations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate payroll accounting workflows.
• Develop scalable processes and controls to support growth across the global platform.
• Research and resolve complex payroll and benefits accounting issues across countries and entities.
• Establish and maintain internal controls, documentation, and reconciliation procedures.
• Manage and develop team members in payroll-related accounting activities.
• Coordinate with internal and external audit teams; provide documentation as needed.
