Job summary

Welltower Inc. in Dallas, Texas, seeks a Manager of Payroll & Benefits Accounting to guide global payroll and benefits accounting. You will lead the team, oversee journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, and partner with Payroll, Human Capital, Finance, and IT to ensure accurate GL reporting.

Role includes Workday implementation support and process automation initiatives. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in accounting with payroll/benefits experience, US GAAP knowledge, and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA or other professional designation preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience including payroll/benefits.
• Experience supporting payroll in a large, multi-entity org.
• Global or multi-country payroll accounting experience preferred.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge, GL, reconciliations, internal controls.
• Experience with ERP/HRIS implementations; Workday preferred.
• Ability to automate and scale accounting processes.
• Strong analytical and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Ability to lead and develop accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting for payroll, benefits, STI, and T&E across global ops.
• Oversee payroll journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheets.
• Partner with Payroll, Human Capital, Finance, IT to reflect activity in GL.
• Support Workday implementation, configurations, and testing.
• Identify opportunities to streamline, standardize, and automate workflows.
• Develop scalable processes and controls for payroll accounting.
• Manage and develop team members handling payroll-related accounting.
• Coordinate with internal/external audit on payroll-related expenses.
